Hi,

     We are using the display part: NHD-0420DZ-FL-YBW (4X20 supply is+5V). Now we are planning to reduce the LCD size by replacing the new LCD part: NHD-0420H1Z-FL-GBW-33V3 (4X20 supply is 3.3 to +5.5V).
 
We are planning to use the same +5V supply for this NHD-0420H1Z-FL-GBW-33V3 part and I/O interface also same +5V as NHD-0420DZ-FL-YBW.
 
Is this method of doing has any issue? Since the typical voltage is +3.3V mentioned for the display : NHD-0420H1Z-FL-GBW-33V3.

Hello Sugumar,

Thank you for reaching out. NHD-0420H1Z-FL-GBW-33V3 was designed to be a 3.3V module, I do not recommend running it at 5.0V.

Hello Sir,

    This LCD display part: NHD-0420H1Z-FL-GBW-33V3 Typical supply voltage is given as 3.3V, But the Backlight Supply Voltage is given as 3V.

Can I use the LCD Supply Voltage and Backlight Supply Voltage at +3.3V instead of two separate supplies.

To answer your question yes, however please use a current limiting resistor  8)

Now instead of previous display, We are planning to use 4X20 display part : NHD-0420AZ-FL-GBW-33V3 which 4 mounting holes whereas previous part NHD-0420H1Z-FL-GBW-33V3 has only two mounting holes.

This is due to vibration requirement of our unit.

1) Now What is the back-light supply voltage tolerance for the LCD part: NHD-0420AZ-FL-GBW-33V3? Since in your datasheet only typical value only mentioned.

2) Also what is the minimum LCD supply voltage for the same LCD part? Since typ and maximum value only given.

Answer:
Typ: 3.0V   |   Max: 3.3V (With a current limiting resistor)


Question 2:
"What is the minimum LCD supply voltage for the same LCD part?"

Answer: 3.0V
