Title: NHD-4.3-480272EF-ATXL#-T, Initialization
Post by: JT on October 25, 2014, 11:46:22 AM
We're using this display in a product driven by a Freescale i.mx28 series processor and sporadically we see a white screen on start-up. Typically this occurs after the unit has been un-powered for a significant length of time (many hours). If power is cycled to the unit the display returns to normal. My feeling is that it is related to the mode of operation of the display (i.e. DE or SYNC mode) and I was wondering if you could give me a more thorough explaination of how these modes are set? Also, what roll does the DISP line play in initialization?

Thanks in advance,

P.S. We have noticed the same issue with other displays based on the HX8257.

The display is configured for SYNC mode and is not meant to be changed.  As for the DISP signal, this line needs to be pulled HIGH to turn the display ON.  You may communicate with the display with the DISP signal LOW, however you will not see any image until the DISP line is HIGH.
