Title: OLED speed
Post by: bbragg on January 10, 2015, 11:48:51 AM
I was looking at the specs for NHD-0216KZW-AB5 and I noticed that the execution time says 600uS for single byte operations.  Is that really the new rate given that the old LCD based devices ran these ops at 38uS when clocked at the very common 270KHz?  Are the display processors on these OLEDs really 15 times slower?

The execution times listed in the datasheet are correct.  Please also note that these times are the max execution times, and are not representative of the average.  A faster way would be to use a busy flag check after a command is sent instead of using a 600us delay.
