New Mountable TFT Displays

This new product line consists of 32 new TFTs are paired with a tough steel bracket and can be found in many different sizes. The steel bracket makes mounting these displays both convenient and extra-secure. You’ll find Mountable TFT Displays in 3.5”, 4.3”, 5.0”, 7.0”, and even 10.1” sizes.   

Newhaven Display has designed these Mountable TFTs for Rack-Unit height making them a perfect fit for typical server racks and other industry standard enclosures. The steel brackets also have M3 PEM standoffs, or “feet”, to allow room for the installation of an accessory PCB. With no specialty software driver required and the bracket’s offset mounting tabs, integrating a display with any enclosure has never been so easy and so secure.

New Product Releases / All New 5.0" and 7.0" HDMI TFT Modules

New HDMI TFT Modules

The product line is made up of three 5-inch TFT modules and nine 7-inch TFT modules. The 5” versions all come with MVA technology (meaning exceptional 75° viewing at all angles) and your choice of capacitive, resistive, or no touch panel. The 7” modules have the same selection of touch screen options, but also allow you to choose between Standard, Premium, or Sunlight Readable TFT displays.

These new HDMI TFT Modules greatly simplify the process of connecting to the display. Rather than juggling an FPC ribbon cable with a middle-man controller board, you can connect an HDMI cable from your desired board or computer right into the TFT module. This makes it easy to interface with your display from the development and prototyping stages, all the way into final application production.

The incredible ease-of-use of these new products follows through into their touch panel integration as well. For both the resistive and capacitive (PCAP) touch panel options, USB-HID driver recognition is installed. Each of the touch panel modules are also each pre-calibrated in-house to the display they’re mounted on. This means that a simple USB to micro-USB cable just needs to be connected from your board with touch interaction output (i.e. Raspberry Pi) to the module and your touch interactivity is ready to go immediately.

New EVE2 TFT Modules

The extremely powerful EVE2 generation of integrated circuits (ICs) are now available with new TFT display modules from Newhaven Display International. Newhaven Display has teamed up with FTDI/Bridgetek to create a high quality full color display product backed by the feature-rich FTDI EVE2 Graphic Engine. The product line is made up of twenty different modules ranging in size from 3.5” diagonal to 7.0” diagonal. They also come with options for resistive or capacitive touch panels, as well as Newhaven Display’s Standard, Premium, and Sunlight-Readable display variants. For the first time ever, these new products allow you to connect to a Newhaven Display TFT via SPI interface. The modules are packaged with fully integrated capability for video, audio, and touch interactivity.

With Newhaven Display’s EVE2 TFT Modules, you will find two standard 20-pin connection options on every board – a 1.0mm FFC and a 2x10 2.54mm IDC connection. Both of these connector options will bring you the full power of the integrated EVE2 IC, without ever sacrificing display brightness. Typical TFT Modules will compromise the backlight brightness to accommodate the featured IC; however with Newhaven Display's EVE2 Modules, the full potential of the display's backlight luminance is available and can be adjusted as needed with the Pulse-Width Modulation controls available on each model.

Like never before, communication with these Newhaven Display EVE2 TFT Modules is done via serial (SPI or QSPI) interface. This offers you the ability to keep your microcontroller costs low while still providing a rich list of features thanks to the FTDI/Bridgetek Graphic Engine. SPI interfacing expends less pins (I/O) and the IC source is the latest and greatest, so you can design these products into your project without fear of near obsolescence.

Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) displays are an easy fit for any application with Newhaven Display’s new 2x16 Modular OLED product line. Choose between three electrical interfaces and five connector options for these character OLED displays. The modulated characteristics were designed with all kinds of engineers’ project requirements in mind. With these new adaptable, small-scale modules it’s easy to incorporate all the benefits of OLED technology and more into your existing or upcoming projects.

The 2x16 Modular OLED product line was designed and engineered in Elgin, IL U.S.A. These new modules are two-row by sixteen-character OLED displays. These displays output blue colored characters at a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, using three built-in font tables, and their biggest advantage is the components and infrastructure that make up the different modules.

Each of the six new Modular OLED displays come with a unique combination of electrical interface and connection options. The available interfaces to choose from are Parallel, SPI, and I2C. Five distinct connection options are available: two dual row pin headers in 2x18 (for Parallel interface only) or 2x8 sizes, two single row through-hole pin outs (in either 1x7 or 1x8 sizes), and an RJ45 port.
